Outside factors also help in the development of cellulite. Cutting back on coffee, alcohol, saturated fat, sugar and cigarettes will help reduce the build up of toxins. These are usually responsible for the release of free radicals that cause havoc in the body. These substances also put pressure on the lymph network, which is responsible for getting rid of toxins from your body. If the lymph system is not operating efficiently then fibres are created that stick to the walls of the fat boxes, which in turn makes them thicker. This will then put pressure on the fat and push them further to the top of the skin layer, making the look of cellulite more pronounced.
